Last month we took a group of UK consulting engineers to experience the best of Italian engineering design. We firstly visited the Robur offices and factory in Bergamo, then went to the famous Museo Ferrari, in Maranello, just outside Modena.
Our Robur hosts presented the company and its technology, and we saw the factory and production departments. Robur has embraced Ferrari’s ethos of excellence in the production of both its commercial heat pumps and its new domestic, gas powered 18 kw monoblock, which is currently on test at the factory and due for release in 2015.
The engineers were impressed by the Italian company’s positive spirit and passion for what they do. Ferrari represents the epitome of engineering and aesthetic design and grown men are often reduced to tears by the beauty of the world’s most famous car maker. Our guests didn’t cry over the Robur heat pumps, but they were exceptionally impressed by the technology.
One of the group expressed his thanks to the hosts by writing, “The ingenuity of the products and the professionalism, passion and belief in them which came across from the Robur team was inspirational. I was very impressed with the entire set-up and especially with the fact that the majority of the components are designed and purpose made within the factory.”
Leon Sunkin, Sales Director of ESS, who ran the trip, summed up the views of those who attended, “It was a life-enhancing experience for the group as they are all so passionate about engineering design.”
